In June 2024, we were both deep in the busiest season of our careers—traveling as full-time speakers, finalizing a book, and juggling consulting work across the globe as assessment and grading experts. Launching something new felt impossible.

And yet, we couldn’t shake the growing number of messages we were getting from fellow educators asking, “How do I do what you do?”

We didn’t have the answers yet. Truthfully, we weren’t even sure this space—business coaching—was meant for us. We weren’t clear on what support was most needed or even who we could help. What we did have was a hunch that the best way to figure it out wasn’t more planning. It was to co-create with real human beings like the responsive educators that we were.

So we invited three educators to work with us for free, as our "guinea pig" clients. No website. No fancy marketing. Just six coaching sessions and a promise: we’d help them get their first client, and they’d help us discover our most valuable offer.

That experience showed us what was possible—but it also surfaced deeper questions. How do you pick the right thing to focus on when you’re multi-passionate? How do you design a learning experience that actually helps someone—and doesn’t burn you out? How do you find someone to coach if no one is reaching out? What happens when they say no? Or worse, ghost you?

Through those early calls, we figured out what works, what doesn't, and turned it into a repeatable process. Inside the Blueprint, we walk you through every step—from choosing your focus, to crafting a lean curriculum, to finding your first client even if you’re starting from scratch.

Those conversations quickly became the highlight of our week. Our fear that we were too busy to build something new evaporated as we'd count down the days to our next session. Through real-time coaching and messy co-creation, we started to see patterns. We saw what they truly needed—and let go of the parts that we thought mattered, but didn’t. But more importantly, we got to experience the joy of witnessing people achieve something they deeply desired in real-time. As educators, we live for those light bulb moments and wins!

Two months later, we launched our first paid online coaching program using the success stories of these clients and brought in $25,000. A year after that, our Bootcamp is on track to cross six figures—all while remaining our side hustle (🤯).

We didn’t start with a brand. Or a business plan. Or even a clear niche.
